My Current AI Coding Setup (November 2026)
I’m still using cmux as my primary terminal on the Mac, with multiple tabs open for different projects.
Every once in a while, I dabble with Solo Term and Herdr TUI, but I keep coming back to cmux. Mostly because of its simplicity and the muscle memory I’ve built around how I like things organized.
Claude Code is my primary harness, with Opus 5.5 doing most of the heavy lifting.
I pay $20/month each for Anthropic and OpenAI. I don’t use Codex a whole lot, but occasionally summon it from Claude Code for code reviews, second opinions, and another perspective on things.
I also have a DigitalOcean droplet running a couple of personal projects, including Home Base and a travel companion web app.
The droplet runs Omarchy with Tailscale, all TCP ports closed to the public internet, and Claude Code Remote Control set up so I can work on it from my phone.
I’m sure this will keep evolving.
